FAQ's
-
What breeds do you work with?We do not discriminate—all breeds are welcome at Whispering Tails.
-
How do you gain access to my home? After our initial consultation, we'll require a key or access code for easy access to securely come and go from your home as directed.
-
What areas do you service?North to West Vancouver, including Horseshoe Bay.
-
Do you work with anxious or reactive dogs?Yes, we do—in fact, we specialize in them. Please be aware that before a booking it is mandatory to disclose triggers & behaviours (such as clothing, bikes, movements, other dogs, noises, protective , shy, etc). It is also mandatory to disclose training techniques and equipment currently being used (such as muzzle, soft muzzle, "no dog" approach harness, leash types, commands etc). We'll reinforce what's working and take an informed approach towards their triggers. For the safety of our staff and also the well-being of your dog, we require first meetings to be in a safe, familiar place for your dog. Depending on the level of reactivity there can be multiple visits with you and your dog before being handled on their own. Reactivity can be difficult, but with time and patience we can reach our end goal
-
Are you insured?Yes, we are licensed and insured.

-
What is your cancellation policy?Simply put: life happens. There's no fee for cancellations—however the full service charge will be collected if we are not notified prior to our appointment (including a failure to successfully allow us access to your home, if required).
-
What does your screening process look like?Every client goes through a preliminary meet-and-greet in a safe, comfortable space for you and your dog. During this appointment we'll spend whatever amount of time is required to learn all the need to knows: your pet's needs and personality, training protocols and if you have any growth goals for your pet.
-
How does my dog get invited into a pack?Start by letting us know that you're interested in having your dog join a pack. Once we've come to confidently know your dog, we'll match them with a set group of furry friends that is well-suited to their personality, energy level and social needs. Keeping consistency in their pack lowers the risks of negative interactions and supports our teaching of positive social mannerisms.
-
What medications are you able to administer? We're experienced in everything from oral meds and ear to subcutaneous (SQ) fluids. A walk-through of medications and veterinary instructions is always done before we take on this responsibility.
-
What if my pet's medication runs out while I'm away? Many day-to-day medications can be refilled by phone call or email to your veterinarian. Our staff are happy to then pick up your pet's medication from your vet. We recommend that you have a credit card on file at your vet for ease. *If your card is not kept on file at your vet, we will purchase the medication for you, provide you with a receipt and collect a full reimbursement.
